Thank you for your interest in a Prairie Song Leonberger puppy.  When you decide a leonberger is for for you, you are entering a 10 - 12 year committment with your new family member.  Because of this committment, we need to know  about you and your family so we can place the proper puppy with you.  All puppies will be evaluated and matched to the right forever home.  Please fill out our Puppy Questionnaire if you are interested in a Prairie Song puppy.  Please answer the questions as fully as you can as this will aid in our decision.  We hope that you agree that the puppy's welfare is our primary consideration when considering a placement.  We prefer to meet prospective buyers, but if that is not possible we do need to talk on the phone.  We will not place a puppy just by email.  Please feel free to call and make a time to come visit our leos - even if you just want to learn more about the breed.

All of our puppies regardless whether you want a show pup or a companion pup cost $2,000.00.  We don't believe in taking deposits before we have a litter, but as soon as our litter is born we will require a non-refundable $400.00 deposit to hold your puppy.  As the puppy grows we will try our best to match your personality/lifestyle that we understand from your questionnaire/emails/phone calls to the puppy's personality - that way you should be getting a pup that fits in the best with you and your family.

Our puppies are born and live their first few weeks in the bedroom.  After they become too noisy and moving around we move them out to the living room/kitchen area where they are part of every day noises and action.  They are handled often and by as many people as we can get over to help with their socialization.  Our puppies go to their new homes at 8 weeks, as long as they are thriving and have been cleared for travel by our veterinarian.  All puppies will be CKC registered, tatooed or microchipped, have their first set of puppy shots, be dewormed and have a written health guarantee.  Pet puppies are sold with a spay/neuter contract and a non-breeding agreement which is sent to the CKC to be registered.  Show puppies will have a four generation pedigree which is also available to pet puppies upon request.  All puppies will will have a "Puppy pac" consisting of information and items to help start them off in their new home.  We prefer that you come to pick up your puppy, but realise that is not always possible and will ship them.  Shipping costs, crates and gas to travel to the airport will be part of the buyer's expense.  The closest airports are in Calgary & Edmonton, which is at least a 90 minute drive north or south.

Because we are responsible for every puppy that comes out of our kennel, if for any reason you are unable to keep your leonberger, we require that you return the dog to us.  We can then evaluate and rehome to a loving home that the dog deserves to have for their remaining years.  We are also available for the entire life of your Leo, please call or email if you ever have any questions or concerns about your Leo.  We love to receive pictures of all our leo babies - just to keep updated on them!

Please remember, once you get puppy home, there will be a period of adjustment for them.  They just left mom, siblings, aunts & uncles and everything familiar to them.  Some may have just went for their first airplane ride or their first long car drive.  This period of adjustment can be anywhere from 2 weeks to 2 months.  Please don't expect a puppy to just settle in and sleep all night, not have any accidents in the house and be accepting of everyone.  It does take time and it does take alot of attention!  It is like bringing a new baby home - although it doens't take near as long for the pup to be potty trained!
